Contraindications
There are certain circumstances where Colon Cleansing is not advisable, or requires the referral of your primary physician. If you are interested in Colon Hydrotherapy and have one of the conditions below, be sure to discuss with your primary physician to see if this treatment is right for you.
Here are some common contraindications:
- Abdominal Hernia
- Acute Crohn’s disease
- Carcinoma of the rectum
- Cardiac disease
- Cirrhosis
- Colon surgery (needs a doctor’s referral if less than 12 months since surgery)
- Congestive heart failure
- Diverticulitis
- Epilepsy or psychological disorders
- Heart disease conditions
- History of seizures
- Intestinal perforation
- Kidney insufficiency
- Pregnancy (first trimester)
- Recent heart attack
- Recent surgery
- Rectal bleeding
- Rectal or abdominal tumor
- Severe anemia
- Severe fissures or fistula
- Severe hemorrhoids
- Acute abdominal pain
- Uncontrolled hypertension
- Vascular aneurism
- Water and dry fasting (at time of desired appointment)
