- Acute Crohn’s disease
- Carcinoma of the rectum
- Cardiac disease
- Cirrhosis
- Colon surgery (needs a doctor’s referral if less than 12 months since surgery)
- Congestive heart failure
- Diverticulitis
- Epilepsy or psychological disorders
- Heart disease conditions
- History of seizures
- Intestinal perforation
- Kidney insufficiency
- Pregnancy (first trimester)
- Recent heart attack
- Recent surgery
- Rectal bleeding
- Rectal or abdominal tumor
- Severe anemia
- Severe fissures or fistula
- Severe hemorrhoids
- Acute abdominal pain
- Uncontrolled hypertension
- Vascular aneurism
- Water and dry fasting (at time of desired appointment)
